I was checking out allmusic.com a few minutes ago and went into the qotsa page for funzies where i found an album called Land of the Free released on a label called "Sanctuary". It has no release year or rating. When clicking it, it actually says "Gamma Ray" as the group but when clicking the Gamma Ray name you go right back to Queens of the Stone Age.

The track listing is as follows:

1 Rebellion In Dreamland
2 Man On a Mission
3 Fairytale
4 All of the Damned
5 Rising of the Damned
6 Gods of Deliverance
7 Farewell
8 Salvation's Calling
9 Land of the Free
10 The Saviour
11 Abyss of the Void
12 Time To Break Free
13 Afterlife

This IS a CD by the German metal band Gamma Ray that have been put in the wrong place, right? I can't see how i could possibly have missed a whole qotsa (gamma ray) album.

you tell me

This why Nick needs to come back.

That track is intense!

I can be the 10th team.

I was active all last season and fell just short of a championship. I'm out of town until September 3rd, so the live draft would need to be after that. Otherwise, I'm good to go.

Version 3 has less info then version 1.

Why not just bring back version 1 as the main page. Sure the design is a little crude by todays standards, but it worked, and still works. I still consult the old files.
You can get much of the newer information from give the fan what he wants as far as tour dates. There are lots of setlists there, I'd be more then happy to send you further setlists and recording info. I just want to see some updates first before I dig through everything.

?

I'm pretty sure that this page: http://thefade.net/index.php?option=com_wr...r&Itemid=90 has the vast majority of the info that was on the old site. I think that was everything I was able to find after the old site went down.

The new website is run with Joomla, a CMS (content management system) which theoretically makes it easy for anyone (without HTML knowledge) to post/edit things on the site. That was the whole reason we made the switch. Of course, if multiple people want to edit the discography or whatever we need to figure out a system to keep it organized, but I'm sure it can be done.

When I originally took the site over, I basically did it to ensure the old information was still online. The old content (discography, setlists, etc) took literally hundreds of hours to put together by many dedicated people and I didn't want that work to go to waste.

I am more than willing to set something up where volunteers can update the content. In fact, the reason we switched the site to this new design was to make it easier for other people to add/update content.

The problem is that few people volunteer and even fewer actually follow through getting the work done accurately in a reasonable time frame.

That being said, if I can get a few dedicated people on board, there is no reason we can't get the website fully up-to-date again.

Dok, it's not S/T remaster, it's just a R rerelase. Why would they remaster something perfect?

They're still remastering S/T?

Good news.

Who the fuck knows

Josh is not really a man of his words

I have a feeling Josh doesn't actually have that much say in how/when projects like this get released. I mean, they've already done the work on it, so you would assume he'd want to get it released ASAP...

Tell your mom you will call her in between sets - that way she'll know you're okay and you can give her an update on timing.

I'd venture to guess QOTSA plays for around 90 minutes...and maybe add 20-30 mins to set up after the Eagles finish up.

Whatever.

Why not try to use the popularity of some other shitty band to boost your own fanbase? That's called smart marketing in my book.

So you could say...the band would be "In The Fade" for this performance? wink.gif

I would jizz myself if they played that song on national TV.

Well that was totally worth it.

Unfortunately Vancouver had one of its "fireworks nights" so the crowd was pretty small, but the show was amazing. As Troy put it - "fuck fireworks, we have lasers". Serrina is incredible on stage...very memorable show.

They will be in Seattle tomorrow...so if any of you are from there or have a chance to see Sweethead in the future, you need to go.

Well I was hoping for more than 2 responses, but they were pretty much as expected. I guess I should go...since I have nothing better to do that night, tickets are only $15 and I really should support Troy when he comes to town (and Serrina being a babe doesn't hurt matters)...

So they are playing Vancouver next Wednesday. Should I go?

I expect I know what the general consensus will be, but I'd like to hear from a couple people who have seen them live.

Looking through each album from QOTSA on iTunes - some of these are a little surprising as they were added at different times. But whatever - still interesting...at least to me, which songs I've listened to the most since I got my new computer 3 years ago.

S/T: Give The Mule What He Wants
R: Monsters in the Parasol
Deaf: A Song for the Dead
LTP: Medication
EV: Misfit Love
B-Sides: Era Vulgaris & Goin' Out West (tie)

Most frequently played from related bands:
Kyuss: Gardenia
EODM: Speaking in Tongues
Desert Sessions: Screamin' Eagle
Vultures: Reptiles

I think they're pretty good, too.
Got into them last summer and really loved "King of Magazines". The breakdown in the middle is very similar to the one in Brant Bjork's "Moda"

Wow - thanks for sharing that track. Can't stop playing it.

Everybody on this board should be listening to Mondo Generator, Brant Bjork, and the other members of kyuss. It's one big family with all very great music, obviously Queens gets alot of press but don't deprive yourself. Never judge music over personal prejudice, Nick may be an idiot, but that doesn't mean he's not a talented musician. oh and "All That I Got" is on the last Mondo record, retitled "Take Me Away". cool.gif

weren't you supposed to be leaving?

They've done some pretty cool stuff, including two tracks with John Garcia:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RU8r5Av0IJ4 - definitely a Kyuss (Wretch) vibe
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss6AZF8oJl0 - also features Pete Stahl

and a couple other songs of theirs I like:

HOLY FUCK.

That is fucking awesome. I'd have given my left nut to see that live...

Kyuss should do a one time reunion show. They could charge $250 - $500 for tickets. It would pay for Brain's medical expenses and any future cancers anyone in the family gets. (Trucks idea)

Honestly, I would pay $500 for a ticket plus travel expenses (anywhere in North America) to see that show.
