QUOTE Sell outs! Nick and Mark need to team up and form their own band. Hard rockin'! The new Lanegan stuff has been okay but he needs to take a break from the dreary stuff and sing some rock tunes. Wow, I can see it now...one great meth fueled grage-rock rekord followed by a bunch of canceled tour dates and pissed off fans. |

Josh must still be very fond of EV, I remember him saying how much he hated touring LTP, not sure if was the music or the shows. Maybe he WILL be carrying the same EV sound to the next record. |

Never said TCV wasn't robot...just said I think its a blatant excellent excuse for no new QOTSA. The music speaks for itself. |

They have deffinately gotten away from Robotic riffage and into a spooky Halloween rock on the last 2 records, its true. |

This going to piss people off...but I got the new QOTSA record a year ago. Josh really laid down solid Rock an' Roll better than L2P or EV combined. No one can complain, the Vultures record rocked way fucking harder than we could've asked for on any new Queens release. I just told myself Joey was busy with EODM so Josh invited back QOTSA's previous drummer: Dave Grohl. Also, everyone realized Shuman was a joke so they found a real bassist: JPJ. And Troy was off giving sweet head somewhere so Alain took his spot. And of course Josh did what he always does and grabbed the reigns. |

I would rather record at Josh's, although its looks like he grabbed a bunch of shit from Salvation Army to decorate. I'm sure his gear and equipment would be more fun and equally as professional. Sure I'd be way fucking more inspired there too! |

So with all the samples and live clips I've heard, including Dead End Friends, I have to say it sounds like the BEST QOTSA since SFTD. The sound is so Josh Homme. Its like the great debate over who should be playing bass in QOTSA was answered: Jon Paul Jones, thats who. Grohl used to be in QOTSA. And you throw Alain in the mix you have the newest incarnation of QOTSA. But this time the music sounds "RIGHT." I wouldn't be saying this if the music didn't speak for itself, can anyone deny that this sounds like Homme music at its best?? |

Brant is burnt out. Josh is still very creative. The best thing Brant ever did was the Operators album. |

So I sent my Dad the links to the TCV decent vids from Chicago and the teaser. Hes been in a bunch of bands and is a phenominal guitarist. Anyway this is his reply back. Interesting. QUOTE Very nice. Good and heavy too! Not a big fan of Josh's voice on studio stuff so it will be interesting to hear the studio cuts The story I have is........... A buddy of mine Jim ( dated Belinda for a while, he is 57 I think ) anyway, his son Graham Marsh is a Professional Studio // Sound Technician // Engineer. Engineered 2 CD's for Gnarls Barkely and works with Cee Lo all the time on other projects............anyway.........2 or three weeks ago his facebook update said he sat down to have lunch in a studio break area in LA and in walks and sits John Paul Jones eating lunch!!!!! He freaked and eventually talked to him. They ( JPJ) were there working on the Vultures project. He didnt see anyone else. He said that he was very gracious and nice to talk to. Pretty cool. Thanks for the links. Dad |

QUOTE By some strange twist of fate they played here in 07 at a little club called The Moon, then I saw them in Atlanta with a bunch of RekRek-ers. Should they venture down this way again, you should meet up with us .Will do. |

QUOTE I just wish I lived at Disney. I'm in Tallahassee. But I'm glad someone else is close by. I thought the closest ones to me were the Atlanta folks. I usually catch shows at the House of Blues or Hard Rock, I've seen QOTSA at both venues, also saw EODM at the House of Blues. If the band is too big then they always have a stop at the UCF arena here in Orlando. I have been to shows in Tampa too, other than that I haven't been to many other venues in FL. |

Obviously they are starting the tour in Europe. I live in the USA, I can be a patient boy and wait down here in Florida. I know they will be in my neck of the woods eventually. I just hope Jones is down for a BIG tour, god knows Josh and Dave can do it but Jones is an old man dude. |

I don't know what gangfang was talking about when he said that it wouldn't be as heavy as we thought. I think this shit sounds like a bunch of badass riffs and blues chords with Grohl killing the drums and Homme singing beautifully. Fang made it seem like we would be dissapointed because it wasn't heavy...pfft It has Homme all over it!!!!!!!!!!!! The guitar licks on the second vid sound like early QOTSA. |

Yeah, Paved Death is just so average...dare I say boring. Doesn't sound like something Jomme would do, but then again Grohl might do some shit like that. |
