Lanegan was there. I was front row center on the rail in front of Josh. Great gig, you could tell the guys had changed and their playing reflected it. Turnin on the Screw and God is in the Radio were my personal favorites. The new background was cool too, like straight out of little sister video really. This was not better than the Natasha gig but that was a really tough show to top. I'm always impressed with Troy. He slayed out there, jumping like batman. Mikey cut his hair, it looks like shit. Sorry, kate. I''ve got tons of photos to post later. EODM were amazing as always, to me their show is always the same: lots of fun. Its amazing and fantastic in its own right, they are the best garage band (with the Hives) money can buy but Queens is on a whole new level. The last time they shared a bill in CA was at the Palm Desert gig and that was amazing as well but the two experiences are not the same really. Joey is my personal hero, he fucking killed for two sets! He missed a few heavy hits and augmented them for a few songs during Queens but he rebounded and kepy going hitting fucking hard all night. Very impressive, perfect drummer. |

Did you manage to get a $250 ticket? How many do you think they sell. I was really surprised I could not pull one. I usually get good tickets to events (first row the for tcv at a seated event ect) but nothing for 250, by the time I tried for 100$ after it was row DD so i figured I might as well just get the $50 ticket and be on the floor. It's too bad this is really confusing. Yes all the money is going to a good cause and I'm more then happy to purchase a ticket regardless of if I actually go to the show or not to show my support but it would be nice if they made it clear what each ticket was. Thanks for clearing this up, even if it was after the onsale I usually have great luck with tickets too but I was really tired, and put a space between bighands on the menu page for tickets and pissed away about 10 seconds. Those were crucial and VIP were gone, I got row AA though so if I feel like it I have the best seat in the house, upstairs though so fuck that |

[quote name='american_coma' date='Jul 16 2010, 05:36 PM' post='1862634'] [quote name='corpusse' post='1862632' date='Jul 16 2010, 05:07 PM']Anyone get a $250 ticket? I guess row AA which is separate is the $250 ticket? Listen up folks, I've been to club nokia 4 times in the past 2 months and I've got the scoop. VIP tickets buy you access to your seat upstairs and anywhere else you want to go. they have 3 pit areas down below, like the wiltern but smaller, access to the smallest area is secured by wristbands either when you are lining up or once you enter the little pit area by as security guard. the 250 tickets may have access to a meet and greet but possibly they get to enter for a soundcheck and stick around the main pit area on the rail before everyone else gets in? I don't know that but QOTSA & EODM folks and management aren't really super strict about that shit like NIN VIP ticket packages. If 250 dollar folks got to cut all the 100 folks before the doors open thats the way it is, thats alot of money so I can deal with that, I won't be happy but I understand. I bought the 100 tickets. My guess is 50 dollar ones will get you into the main area provided you line up early and get a wristband, but again, you could be fucked. This was not the case for them crooked vultures @club nokia however. You bought a GA2 or GA3 ticket and if you got a wristband then you were in the main area for TCV. thats it |

Talked to Brody @Rock Benefit at Largo last month, she is recording with Distillers right now. I told her I was surprised and she said so was she. It's going to be great |

thats a great picture of Josh at the show! I didn't dare take a photo in the Nazi Largo establishment. He told a story about misunderstandings since he thought the benefit show would be something else (all tongue in cheek), about Stuttgart, Germany. A midget was thrown on stage by a huge guy during a Kyuss gig and then Josh fought the big guy later over the dude's girlfriend Josh was trying to fuck. He played "Long Slow Goodbye" solo and then I got a photo with him and Brody then I left right after. I don't dig comedians playing music badly, even for charity. Brody said she is recording with the Distillers and Josh said no LA gigs for Queens this summer. |

Josh is performing for Bring the Rock Benefit show with Ben Stiller headlining@ Largo 5.7.10. Last year, he was at Largo for a talk show and talked for around 25 minutes and played a song with Alain and Jon Brion. I got my tickets, should be a good time |

The last NIN gig was the same day as the soulsavers gig in CA so that show must have been full of people wishing they were where I was. Ha! In all seriousness, out of all the Lanegan bands, Soulsavers are the one I like the least. And since they can't sell out the troubadour, perhaps others feel the same way. Every time he plays in town his venues get smaller and smaller. I love his voice but its not enough to get me out the door, I need Greg Dulli or Queens |

On LAlive's twitter it mentions for those who did not get tickets to travis' shows at the largo at the coronet this month to not fret because they will have other shows. The only two dates on this months calendar for travis would be those very special guests slots. The coronet is kinda too fuckin anal for my tastes, saw Josh there for the talk show in April. It has potential but has shitty guests and its ass far so unless like fiona apple or crooked vultures play then go elsewhere. |

People were giving a loud ass ovation and chanting "Jimmy" and he smiled and gave like a wave/thumbs up right when the band was coming back for the encore. Honestly, I wanted them to make him come onstage so bad! Jimmy and Jack were on some rockumentary about the guitar and the film is just coming out. Cisco Adler tried to cut me off entering the show and I told him to move; douchebag tried to get the doorman to let him in without a ticket or guest list or anything. Why does he get ladies? He sucks ass, Danger Mouse was there too. |

This board has been pretty dead so I thought I'd come by and give my two cents about my three EODM shows in three days last weekend: basically, they kicked ass. Ink N Iron was basically a parking lot in front of the water and Queen Mary EODM came on at like 10:15 and played till a little after 1130 with tons of people leaving throughout which sucked since it was their best performance of the weekend. The festival has alot going on though and hot ladies everywhere so it might be hard to stay committed to EODM. The weather was overcast and fuckin perfect. No encore for this gig but Micah was onstage and Jesse was stoked. Jesse's dance before "Speaking in Tongues" and just his moes in general was the best out of all three shows because the stage was so much bigger than the other gigs. He really kicked ass. Joey has really come into his own and changed the music for the band as well:"Already Died" is now some kind of headbanger which it never was before. I think, after seeing EODM like 20 times in 3 years, that Joey has finally acclimated to the band, before he was just too fuckin out of place and I missed Gene. He really looks much smoother now. Anyway, Glass House was next and Sweethead opened for them and they kicked ass but Serrina seems like a real bitch. The played for a half hour and threw in a Kinks cover for good measure. The middle section for Ink N Iron had drunken revelers head butting each other with a few hot ladies in between but the Glass House middle was all dudes with brotastic sweaty faux love annoying the shit out of me and beating on hot ladies. They were so gay why didnt they just make out and get it over with? We will never know. Jesse changed into three different shirts because it was damn hot in the Glass House. The solo Jesse encore was "Midnight Creeper" "Cherry Cola" and "Brown Sugar" with the band joining Jesse halfway through to finish the song and the set. The last show was off the 62 which is the scariest highway in America straight out of House of 1000 corpses. I was scared shitless driving to bumfuck nowhere for this gig and the venue was like this sandy firepit shithole where the power kept going off during the show and lights were fucking up. The roadie called the band members onstage and was fuckin pissed since they were all late, the venue was so shitty, and no one was really helping him setup. They came on like an hour late and he was fuckin not happy. Regardless, this was the most fan friendly show with great crowd support. Really, it had to be since the venue was literally in the end of the universe and you would have to be a crazy motherfucker like me to drive to shitville on a sunday night when the Lakers are playing overtime. Same setlist except they played "I like to move in the night" which kicked ass. The little kid firepit stage was so small that Jesse couldn't dance much though but the ladies in the crowd were off their ass which was wonderful! Jesse led the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday" to Dave and Mr. Catching was late to the show since he was making out with some hottie. He was fuckin shitfaced out of his mind during the entire show and I was impressed he was actually able to play much less walk. After the last song I flew to my car and drove down the long ass and scary 62 so slowly that Joey passed me twice in his dodger charger coming home before I even hit the 10 freeway! Once I got to Casino Morongo I flew past him only to be stopped by an overturned car and four CHP officers and a ton of traffic. The drive home was a total pain in my fuckin ass but it was a great weekend. Pictures and a sweetass video: http://www.flickr.com/photos/15194660@N07/ |

Sweethead is opening for EODM@ glass House gig and hopefully all the CA shows, except for Ink N Iron, which is its own festival. Fuck yeah! The Glass House is super close for me and a little shithole and a chance to see two bands like that should be great. I am tempted to drive the one way 2 hour trek for the Pioneertown because Josh should be there, but Peaches is playing at the much closer that night at the Fonda, my favorite venue for shows in CA. Tough choice, but I think I'll live. |
