Its Pride this weekend
I'm reminded by the ocular migraine spreading across my field of vision
It looks like a rainbow laser show at a particularly gay rave
Looking @ this forum really shows it off!

While this kind of thing is important, i never participate. I'm not expecting someone else(outsider) to do shit for me.

Rebel against something you know personally, don't do what the internet tells you to do.

I probably won't be joining any march or parade, I don't have time
I will probably just use it as an excuse to chat to random strangers at a party/bar

Last year I met some nice people, they invited me back to theirs to party but I was too drunk so I went home instead
It's a convivial atmosphere and people are friendly

it's weird how a white male can put on a dress and some eyeshadow and he instantly transforms from the liberal villain to the liberal ideal. funny that.

i'm just kidding, i have no problem with the gays, but i do have a problem with interest groups and agendas.

i think a gay man's idea of beauty may be much more evolved and nuanced than a straight woman, usually. but women have THE worst and most narrow idea of masculine beauty.

i also think straight people who participate in pride are just appropriating the culture anyway, the phenomenon of the fag hag.

I like to think I have an enhanced appreciation of Masculine Beauty

We had lots of gay friends when I was a kid, and we lived next to a hermaphrodite for a few years
I think my mum was assigned to protect him in a weird way
He was from a military family and his dad used to beat him up pretty badly for being effeminate, he couldn't help it as he developed female characteristics at  puberty
He used to get chased down the street and have stuff thrown at him and harassed generally

He just disappeared one day, I think he threw himself in a river or something

Plus both my grandmothers were theatrical fag hags so I feel it's good to carry on the tradition

Im Bi, mostly attracted to men but some women as well
I think sexuality is fluid though, people like Mapplethorpe and Leigh Bowery both having a long term relationships with a woman despite being otherwise uber gay illustrates that for me
I know a few guys who had kids and then "became" gay later in life
And some women who did the same
It's not all Black and White

Thinking about it I definitely have a preference for men with boyish "pretty" faces
That don't look overly masculine
I'm not into muscles, facial hair and traditionally masculine looks
Nearest to that that I like is probably a guy in a suit who still looks "boyish"-cityboy type

Yes
My first boyfriend used to get chatted up by men all the time
He looked like a girl
They used to get angry when they realised that he was a boy
He was very attractive and charismatic and they were drawn to him and blinded to reality

He ended up being very good at martial arts because he had to learn to fight

the thing with women is their attraction to men is instinctual

gays attraction to men goes against nature, therefore it must be cerebral

for something to be cerebral as opposed to instinctual allows it the scope for nuance, which is why in the gay man's world encompasses bears, twinks, studs, et cetera. there is more grey than the black and white world of a female's concept of masculinity.

I dunno, women have very different tastes as well
A lot of which I find incomprehensible

I got chatted up by a young actress who wants me to escort her to Pride tommorow
She gave me her number
She says she has a girlfriend who is working and she wants to hang out with me as she's not from London

I think I will take her out for lunch in Soho or something

She is very pretty but a bit wild/crazy

I feel like she will get me into trouble

I have to say, even though it's not my "type"
When I went to chemical brothers @ SW4 last year
I really did appreciate all the hot eye candy of fit men with lots of tats and their shirts off being vaguely homo and loved up
It was kind of intoxicating
Mostly because of the vibe

Even though I don't buy into that lifestyle (gym bunny with tats and kind of cliched aesthetic standards) myself, I can enjoy it as an observer
