I'm pretty sure John Malkovich says the word "fuck" in every scene in the movie.

I liked it in the this-is-completely-pointless way.
The last scene sums it up.

CIA Superior: What did we learn, Palmer?
CIA Officer: I don't know, sir.
CIA Superior: I don't fuckin' know either. I guess we learned not to do it again.
CIA Officer: Yes, sir.
CIA Superior: I'm fucked if I know what we did.
CIA Officer: Yes, sir, it's, uh, hard to say
CIA Superior: Jesus Fucking Christ.

I liked it because it kind of got you thinking, but then you'd catch yourself and say, 'Well what exactly am I thinking about? Nothing happened.'

The weird thing is the way that the violence when it happens is much more affecting than in most films
Mainly because of the characterisation, even though they are flawed, they are still sympathetic

Well it was kind of interesting to be in a movie theatre where everyone is laughing as someone is getting brutally killed with an axe onscreen.

I loved it. It was halfway between "ROFL" and "WTF?"

I really hated the movie when it came out: when Brad Pitt's character died I was pissed off while everyone around me laughed.

"Fuck! He just- Why are you laughing? You whore, a man has just died!"

The violence was so brutal and shocking that it just knocks the wind out of you... the people that laughed... I had a few in my cinema too.. I think they just didn't get something.. or maybe I didn't get it... for me the violence wrenched me uncomfortably out of my seat and blew me away when it happened. You think you know the movie and then BLAMMO you're watching something utterly different.

Yeah, the characters were sympathetic, I really felt bad when that stuff happened. Especially the guy at the end. He was just a nice guy.
