The younger generations will remember him for the foos, but when someone mentions Dave Grohl, my first thought is always nirvana.

The Grohl is an amazingly all round talented guy. It'd be sickening if he didn't come across as such a sweety-pie too. Oh and he's damn shagable too. Couldn't make my mind up about the musical stuff so I voted for his "horse-toothed charm" (love that description!)

Also, whoever posted the pic of Mr Grohl and Mr Homme together, humunuh humunuh that's a sandwich I'd love to be the fillin' in!
Excuse me while I go try get the drool out of my keyboard now.

obviously dave will be remembered for his drumming. He's probably the best drummer of our generation. He's gotten behind the kit on so many great projects (Nirvana, Foos, Tom Petty, QOTSA, NIN and a million others that I can't think of right now).
You know what should be a close second? Songwritting. Think about some of the great songs that he wrote with Foo Fighters (Big Me, My Hero, Everlong, Stacked Actors, Best of You...) and he came up with the riff for Scentless Aprrentice, which is one of the better Nirvana songs. Dave Grohl is just a great songwritter.

He will definately be remembered for drumming, cos on tv and radio they always refer to him as "former drummer from Nirvana" which i'm sure really pisses him off!

LOL!Probably, but can you blame him? I do wish he'd do another QOTSA reckord, but if not I would hpe he could do what Gene and Joey did with R and take turns.

He might still be rocking in 20 years for all we know. I'll remember Dave as one of the most talented musicians in rock music. The guy can do just about anything.

And I might get flamed for this, but I don't even think he did his best drumming in Nirvana. I've heard him on things in the last 10 years that were 10 times better than anything he did in Nirvana.

Just my .02

Dave's voice has changed due to his acquisition of a vocal coach. It's much more light, crisp, and bright than it used to be. I love his newest scream, it's just so in tune. I liked his old voice, TCATS comes to mind. I hate what he did vocally for Skin and Bones (their first live album, acoustic). It's a great album, but the vocals piss me off, he seems like he's intentionally overshooting every word and anunciation.

Musically, Dave should be most remembered for every single thing he has done. I don't think anyone's mentioned his help with Garbage (a band led by a chick with normally Butch Vig [Nevermind producer] on drums) just last year. He did drums on "Bleed Like Me", the first single from that album. His contributions to the modern scene should be recognized. His versitility in music also helps, for example, the acoustic album from In Your Honour, the various styles he can manipulate into a great culmination of awesomeness.

As for his sexiness, I'm Gay for Grohl.
