anyways, I pretty much grew up on the beatles. my parents were ALWAYS playing their CDs
Abbey Road and Rubber Soul are two of the best albums ever made

I definitely love Sgt Pepper the most. Abbey Road is fantastic as well.

so, youre saying that
-pop music cant be good
-andy warhol isnt one of the best painters ever
-random stuff made on lsd cant be good (i guess you also dont like ds1 and 2)
-being the first to do something doesnt make you really gooood
-the beatles arent the best band in the world ever
youre ten pound of shit in a five pound bag. do not have children please, your genes are ruining the human kind

No flaming, or piece of shit fake comments.
revolver, sgt. peppers, white album, abbey road, rubber soul. < pick ANY, they're all masterpieces. and yes, your disinterest in the beatles is very odd.
i think my favorite is actually magical mystery tour. wierd i know.

I'm actually not a fan of Let It Be. It hurts me to say this, but I think the Beatles were best when they were trippin' on psychadelics.

-pop music can be good (i.e. michael jackson in his early days), but i always hear the beatles r the best music to come out of london, they're not even close to led zepplin or pink floyd
-i don't think andy warhol's name is even mentioned when people talk about great painters (i like some of his work, i was just using him to prove my point)...anyone making a 5 and a half hour movie of nothing but a guy sleeping should never be discussed as great
-i've taken lsd before, and i know random stuff done can be good, but someone basing their whole life on it can never be considered great...apparently ur not aware of the effects of lsd on the brain
-being the first person to do something doesn't always make u great...ie: who gets more credit/publicity christopher columbus or leif erickson (the actual first person to discover america)?
-no, the beatles aren't the best band in the world ever
why don't u educate urself first, before trying to talk shit...my 16 year old step-sister makes better arguements than u do...

um, actually, DS 1+2 were done while the group was on a mushroom binge. not acid.
and he didn't say a lot of what you said, not that i agree with either of you really.
the beatles were innovators. so to say a band that came out after them is way better might depend on them being greatly influenced by their predecessors and also being a little derivative. which i'd say is the case. we have to assume that 99% of music today is at least partially due to the beatles whether you like them or not. and that alone is commendable.
both zeppelin and floyd were great bands, though you can't say zeppelin didn't steal much of their groove and that floyd isn't without its fair share of shitty material - though at least it was much more original.

im sure your sister makes arguements as good as mine, because im 16 too. but im trying.
and if you take it literally, beatles werent even the first band to play pop music. theres no straight line between rock n roll and pop music in the 50s and 60s. ive never heard about that leif erickson, but maybe he was just boating around and happened to land in america. actually i think the same happened with columbus, didnt he want to go to india or something? what do i know, im just a 16 years old kid with no education

just because you said the beatles are from london you have no opinion. i think the beatles are fucking unbelievable, in terms of songwriting they are untouchable. i dont believe their is a greatest band ever, but if you had to pick a band it would be them. go listen to revolver u pussy hahahah

yeah, i said london, but i meant england...all i am saying is that in my opinion, they are overrated...they were definately innovators and great song writers, but they just happened to be in the right place at the right time...if they come out in the 80's or 90's, in my opinion, they wouldn't have as much popularity as they did...the beatles are very good, but u saying their song writing is untouchable is a stretch, i would take jim morrison's song writing over their's anyday

Exactly. The right place at the right time. There would have been no 80s music scene as we know it without them. Kinda like the wheel, neat idea, but man, if someone came up with that today, we'd totally ignore that lame invention, who needs it, I have a car. You cannot take them out of the historical circumstances that helped create modern music. The were GREAT, they were inovators, they changed things radically. They also didn't exist in a vacuum, and were influenced by earlier and contemporary sources. The represent a dynamic shift in the way in which music was played and produced, and thier albums still outsell many modern artists. Not your favorite, cool, your opnion, but they really are one of the most imortant bands in recent music history.
You mistook London (a city) for England (a country) ? We should all take this into account when reading this.
The Beatles were from Liverpool anyway.

They were the first band called "the Beatles" to ever play the Ed Sulivan show, for starters...

qft
The Beatles were incredible innovators. They were doing some crazy shity musically for their time. I mean, just look at Eleanor Rigby: there are no guitars or drums, it's just a fucking double string quartet. That must have been wild for that time period (for rock anyway). And then you've got all the tape loops on Tomorrow Never Knows, etc...and the proto-prog of A Day In The Life, etc.
So don't hate.
