thirded.

it's been great watching this band grow and to finally nail a near perfect album and i loved their last single release choice "Charmer" as i thought it was the best track on the album but not an obvious single choice but they went with it anyway.

and hearing this live brought a whole new angle to it they really are phenomenal live.

Neon Bible by The Arcade Fire comes a very close 2nd

Honourable Mentions:

Radiohead - In Rainbows
Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank
Interpol - Our Love To Admire

It's been a great year, really, and for the time being, still being listening to some really good albums, I can't make a choice.
For the time being, my top 10 will probably have :
Brant Bjork - Somera Sol
Les Savy Fav - Let's Stay friends
QOTSA - Era Vulgaris
Film School - Hide Out
PJ Harvey - White Chalk
Fu Manchu - We must obey
Enon - Grass geysers... Carbon Clouds
Goon Moon - Licker's Last Leg
and I keep two spaces for stuff I haven't had the opportunity to hear yet.

I'll drop a quick top ten.  I won't call this "official" since the year isn't done yet and I've still got some thinking to do about some albums.

10. !!! - Myth Takes
9. Queens of the Stone Age - Era Vulgaris
8. White Stripes - Icky Thump
7. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
6. Iron & Wine - The Shepherd's Dog
5. LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
4. Battles - Mirrored
3. Panda Bear - Person Pitch
2. Radiohead - In Rainbows
1. Sunset Rubdown - Random Spirit Lover

And an honorable mention goes to Tears of the Valedictorian by Frog Eyes because I'm still trying to figure out what I think of that album.  Era Vulgaris is decent but, compared to these other albums, it's overshadowed.  The Soulsavers album was pretty good, but enjoy these others much more.

Wincing the Night Away by The Shins is my choice for best album of 2007. I'm fairly sure that it was released this year.
Someone mentioned Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem earlier which ain't half bad either.
