If anything, this makes me like cats even more. However, I am allergic to cats so I would have to load up on meds.

i'm allergic but i found a cat that i don't react to. you have to do a sort of sniff test with them. visit them at the shelter and play with a few, see which you react to (and have benadryl on hand). i found a loving, friendly, playful one who i don't react to, so it's really great.
the only downside is that you can't really get a kitten, because you might not start reacting to them until they're 3 months old, and by then you've bonded with the fluffball.
