(and I'm halfway through Kid A, I think it's better than In Rainbows so far).

Muse is cool, but doesn't compare to radiohead, it's apples and oranges. Yeah the both sing falsetto, but where Radiohead would be the jazz, Muse would be the punk. Radiohead is amazing in a simple complexity and their ear for instrumentation and their big fucking brains full of theory, muse is more powerchords and hook filled melodies with a lot of static and crash symbols and crazy synth effects to fill the space.
I love both muse and radiohead, but radiohead are far superior. You can find something new with radiohead every time you listen, muse kinda plays out as deeper than average brit-rock/pop.
honestly, i rather here the same shit that's working for me everytime instead of radiohead with their annoying background sounds shit. matter of taste though.
and i don't see what's wrong with continue making good records with your "old" sound. it's ridiculous to expect something new everytime.
yeah radiohead are far more complex but muse are intoxicating, at a radiohead concert i'd stand in some corner yawning and waiting for the show to be finally over, to slow for me and they lack the energy somehow. muse might be the rip off but they do it for me and that's all that should matter.
Youknow what that tells me? You've never been to a radiohead concert.
Oh and I wouldn't say muse never grew or changed their sound, I have a big problem with bands that never change (rolling stones ac/dc) Idon't know why they made more than one record if that's all they wanted to do.

Also agree.
ok computer is good, but when I heard Kid A, I almost couldn't wrap my ead around it. It is unlike anything I've ever heard ebfore, impossible to recreate, or even imitate, no traditionally formatted songs on it and altogether fun.

You know what that tells me? You haven't listened to a whole Rolling Stones album. And AC/DC's sound did change once.

Well, okay, I'm biased, I hate the stone's... so to me they've never changed.
AC/DC is cool, but... well you know what I mean. Why move on if you have no intention to try new things?

Huh, I thought the saying was "if you want a lot of money, make the same album over and over again"

very true, i haven't
do you go to concerts of a band you never really liked? i doubt it.
and it's not my opinion about muse either, was just preventing that "but muse never changed" or "they have just like on album"

Comparing the live show of a band you've never seen live with one that you have seen live is ridiculous. I may hate My Chemical Romance but I don't go around saying "yeah, they suck live!" because that would be stupid and ignorant. I can't fucking believe that shit. It’s not ridiculous to expect a band to evolve with each album, either. All great bands do that. Ever heard of The Beatles? No serious musician want to do the same thing over and over again becuase it's boring.
And you're right, Muse's sound has evolved with each album. It's been for the better too, as their first two albums fucking suck. It's just that their new stuff isn't anything to write home about either IMHO.
Alright I've said my peace, let the flaming begin!

Because Kid A's quality is completely independent of In Rainbows' quality. Weird, I know.

i haven't compared their live shows to anybody elses. i said i wouldn't enjoy it, since i don't like their music as it is.
and while we are at it. i get laughed at for listening to muse while you like my chemical romance???

Anyway you weren't getting laughed at, there's a bunch of Muse fans here. They just found it funny that you like Muse better than Radiohead.

Yeah I was just thinking that Showbiz and Origin Of symmetry (i'm not counting their initial EP) were some of their best.

Agreed, but it was paced terribly, it came in with all this energy and then just fell on it's face in the second half. I wish they mixed mroe slow in with fast. It played like two different albums.

Never have been my out and out favourite band but when they hit THAT spot I wonder why I don't listen to them more..... then they do that- 8 chords in one bar arpeggio- part to every other song it all becomes clear.

am i the only one that finds the album incredibly short? maybe it just feels that way, i dunno. 42.5 mins isnt that short of an album, but the album flows so nicely from track to track it just sort of floats by.
