There was a time when Noel Gallagher was mouthing off to the media several times a day. We assumed he’d mellowed with age – but it turns out he’s just as opinionated as ever. The gobby Oasis star did an interview for a Dutch and Belgian TV show this week – and didn’t hold back when he was asked about his home country.

"On tour I miss my girlfriend and my little boy and my daughter, I miss watching the football, I miss getting a decent cup of tea. That’s about it, other then that I don’t miss anything. You know England is not that f**king great, as anybody’ll tell you. To live in England is a f**king shithole, to be honest. Well, look at it, f**king dump! People have this romantic image of England, you know. London is a f**king dump. It’s full of crime, it’s full of fucking tourists. It’s traffic, it’s pollution. I don’t even know why I live here to be honest. I live here because the music industry is here.”

And he didn’t stop there – he then talked about his bemusement that anyone cares what he thinks.

“I often think to myself; who really gives a shit what I think anyway? But if somebody asks me a question I’ve got an opinion on pretty much everything in the world. I’m fascinated as to why people would give a shit what I think of hip hop or what I think of f**king knife crime or Amy Winehouse. Or what I think of Pete Doherty or f**king Elvis Presley or the Pope or Adolf Hitler, who f**king gives a shit for what I think? Well, I tell you why it is; because any f**king rock star you come across that you ask about anything, they come out with that f**king tripe. The same old f**king bullshit. Everything is amazing; ‘What do you think of Amy Winehouse?’ ‘Oh, she’s amazing.’ ‘What do you think of …?’. ‘Oh, it’s amazing, he’s amazing, she’s amazing, that’s amazing. Oh, poor global warming, poor polar bears.’ You know they don’t really f**king think that. I tend to say what everybody else is thinking. That’s what I like to think anyway. I think global warming is brilliant.”

Noel has a written a few decent tunes.  I'm not a fan, but they were alright in concert when I saw them a few years ago.

Having said that, I dig the fact that he's such a mouthy prick.

The new album isn't so bad too.

Surprisingly.

To be honest, Noel Gallagher is one of the funniest fuckers in the public eye. I remember i would spend days watching his interviews, he would constantly crack me up and reduced me to tears. However, his opinions have become a little tiresome but he's still a funny fucker.

i think it's pretty weak but a few songs are growing on me, mainly those written by Liam

i am desperately trying to get tickets to see them next friday, they are honestly one of the best most fun bands i've seen live, they do tend to attract some dicks to their shows but they're pretty easy to scare away if i happen to end up near any of them.

i find the gallaghers have become more bearable as they've settled with age, the period when both were doing obscene amounts of coke they were fucking unbarably annoying!

Waiting For the Rapture is a complete ripp of The doors - Five to one. Is this a sample or what?
(It's on the doors album - waiting for the sun  laugh.gif )

Well he's funny, but there's nothing fun about global warming.
But sure. Laughing of hell and joking about death has always been a typical rock star habit.
Noel, I think you just took a shit on your leg, cause that was indeed stereotypical.
Positive rate. Gear up.

they're always borrowed heavily from classic bands though to be fair and never denied it either, cliff richard fans getting up in arms over a song sounding like devil woman is  fucking classic though!

and i think the intro to the shock of the lightening sounds a little like take thats it only takes a minute laugh.gif

when i saw them at the milton keynes bowl a few years back Noel had been slagging off Liam in the press over his dress sense on stage and said how his brother looked a prick wearing shorts and t shirt and a big floppy hat.

the day we say them they all came out on stage to fucking in the bushes as per usual (tune!) but liam was missing he then bowled oput all cocky wearing a three piece pin striped suit and big floppy hat and said to the crowd "what do ya think of me hat? our kid thinks it looks shite!" and everyone booed cheered, Noel was pissing himself laughing.

The only sensible thing I ever heard out of Noel was his theory that beer is less harmful that tea. Look inside a tea cup, see the stains? You don't get that on a pint, now, do you?

I can see what they tried to do there, and it works for me.

I love Oasis. I think people enjoy listening to him rant because he is one of the few who does. This is a time where everything has to be PC and he is the antithesis of being PC and careful of what he says. I love Noel b/c he is honest and its refreshing to hear that every once and a while.
