so....does this mean no more Jubilee? no more Jubilee? i'm not sure but no more Shuman? Yes, tonight when I mentioned Jubilee to him, he told me that he quit. although, i think i may have scared shuman away, cuz when i bumped into him again he kinda looked at me for a bit and looked the other way and i thought i at least looked decent i got to say though, they played well( for their 3rd show) & zach is very friendly/cool and i wish i had more to say than what i had, i'm bad w/ppl & guys sorry kate i would have tried to do an informal fanklub interview w/video(i really wanted too) but i didnt see him after the show(i barely had any room to breathe during the show) + i think he may have been in the "restricted" area so he's out? whatever. They now have music for sale on their myspace -------------------- |

E-mailed them in order to buy their CD, thought I'd ask about Jubilee, and they confirmed Mikey quit. Shame.

Poor Aaron got booted from NIN and now his new band has fallen apart.
I was excited for the Jubilee album. I guess it's not really happening anymore. I bet he's fucked over because of this too. I don't know much about that weird system they were using to sell their music. Something like the fans had to pay like 30 bucks or something and would then receive every bit of music or video the band released for the entire year. Did anyone sign on to that shit? That whole idea seems piss poor considering a band breaking up could completely screw over all the people who have already paid the fare on the expectation of receiving music throughout the year. Now Aaron has to reimburse everyone. -------------------- ![]() |

QUOTE(Aaron North) Hello friends... What ya have here, is a gift to you, from Jubilee. Actually... Consider this more of an apology, or perhaps a minor attempt at removing that frowny face you get when you've heard the word "Jubilee" lately. Soooooo, this is "Phase 1" of the process. Here are 3 songs Jubilee performed live in some dive, that were recorded last September in Ireland. What we also have for you now, are 2 cover tunes (of The Replacements and The Who) that until now, had only been available on vinyl as the B-sides to the 7-inch versions of our singles. Now... Let me try to explain WHY we are giving these tracks away to you... And ONLY you... Jubilee's Topspin members, for free. This here is the first batch of "exclusive members only" material that we'll be churning out to you, our most loyal friends, with much more on the way. It's the beginning of our attempt at extending a sincere apology to all of you who have been diggin' what we've been up to, and supported the band in our "baby-steps" phase, yet haven't received what we'd promised when you signed up for our "annual subscription membership package" in 2008. This includes the "members only 7-inch". Not to mention our debut album. So yes, I'm sorry, and we're going to do everything we can to make it up to all of you. Now, please keep in mind... This first batch of "members only" goodies does NOT act as a substitute for the 7-inch or album. Those will also be headed your way as originally intended. And we pinky-swear, cross our hearts hope to die stick a needle in our eye... That you will receive all of this stuff sooner than later. Our next "peace offering" headed your way before the album (Or "Phase 2" if you wish) will be a collection of even more cover tunes that we recorded very sparsely and live at my home in We-Ho... And we-hope ya dig 'em. (That was incredibly fruity. Sorry... But that'll happen when ya live in West Hollywood.) This little "e.p." will include our interpretations of gems written by Nico, The La's, The Stone Roses, and F.Y.P. It might even include an original Jubilee tune or two. We'll see. But for now, we hope that this stuff somewhat satiates yer appetite until our album, "After The Crash", pops into your lil in-box. We know, we know... The sound quality of these live tracks is pretty crummy, and we played sloppy that night... But it's yer first chance to hear a tune from the upcoming album that ya probably haven't heard yet called "Make You Crumble", so that's cool, right? Before the album's release, and the covers e.p. headed your way, we will also be revealing a whole lotta info on what the immediate future for Jubilee will include. I haven't been this excited about the band since... Well, ever really. Now, let me finish this "War And Peace" update on this note... I went through a pretty rough time for a few months there, and I sincerely appreciate all the kind words of encouragement that those of you sent to me and the band. It really meant a lot. I'd also like to thank Topspin for putting up with our crap, and still standing by and sticking with us through all of it. It's strange how everything happens for a reason. No matter how bleak or hopeless those things may seem at the time... It's amazing how life has the ability to surprise you by not only somehow landing you back on your feet... But occasionally, also at the same time, gaining you a few steps forward, or even some incredible and exciting leaps... Leading you places you never would've dreamed of being before, back when everything was seemingly "ok". I'm probably not making any sense anymore... So I'll just let ya grab these tunes here, and hopefully you might even enjoy them. Thanks again. Talk at ya soon. - Aaron & Jubilee and for those of us who let their topspin memberships run out like me.... QUOTE(Aaron North) If you have trouble downloading the music/media files linked to in our last email, please read the following: Our database probably does not recognize your status as "active member" anymore, since you subscribed to our digital club prior to the 1st of may 2008 - BUT WE DO ! The software clocks the validity of memberships to one year exactly - so we're trying to figure out a workaround to extend the lifespan of these memberships until everyone has received all the music and media files they're looking forward to. We're still working on the software side of things and worst case scenario we'll send out every file BY HAND - bottom line : NO ONE will be forgotten. And until then, you can already listen to these tracks by clicking on the "play now" button in our last email. We apologize once again, thank you for your support and understanding, and hope you enjoy the music ! And they emailed the songs, which are pretty good a couple of weeks ago now so Jubilee isn't totally dead yet |

For those curious to know, they seem to be improving, since i last saw them
i would have liked to have some of the other songs they played live, that arent on the cd tho i have some okay footage of them from thursday night, for those who care to see it yoob 1:45, i swear i felt him looking at me, but i guess thats what happens when you're the only one constantly taking pix... anyways, during the brief time i had the opportunity to talk to him, my friend/ride had to leave to pick up his grandpa he did mention that they were probably going to be playing at Alex's Bar in Long Beach, CA for those who still want to catch one of their shows oh yes, and pix from the show are HERE -------------------- |

Erm...walk? Catch a bus? A taxi? well, i was thinking in terms of getting back home, it would take about 2 hours by bus to get there(its 15-20 if i have a car & take the freeway), i normally take the bus down that area and i don't mind that but i was thinking in terms of getting back home cuz i'm not comfortable being alone sort of late at night on the bus back home. though, i could try looking into the taxi thing, i haven't ever used a taxi service. thanks -------------------- |

Just got a package from Mikey Shues.
Picked up a copy of their CD and a T-Shirt. Great vocals throughout. spooky vibe on Seven Sons. You're looking Evel Knievel divine. |
