Okay, I'm 23 years old and I've been a Guns N' Roses fan for 20 years since I was 3 years old (because I watched the video for "Patience" on mtv everyday in like 1988, my mom says i absolutely loved that video and would wait for it to come on.. that and howard the duck... anyway by age 10 in 1995, I was heavily addicted to Appetite, Use your Illusion, and Spaghetti Incident. Around 1999 I starting playing drums, and now I've been playing nearly a decade... I've recently gotten back into a big Guns N' Roses kick since all this Chinese Democracy hype... I mean I've never stopped listening to them, but I've been playing those 3 albums way, way more than usual here lately. So to get to my point, now that I'm older, and have been playing drums for almost ten years and having played in several bands, I find Matt's drum work on the use your illusion records to be really boring. His fills are almost identical in every song. In the spaghetti incident, he even manages to throw in those stupid fills on drum parts he didn't even write since they're all cover songs. You get the idea. It sucks, I cant even really listen to these albums anymore, which depresses me because I love a ton of these songs, and have for years. Now I'm probably going to end up only listening to the stuff they recorded with Adler, and the current drummer, Brain, Frank, Josh, whoever, all of those guys are awesome. But has anyone else noticed this about Matt Sorum?
