according to... you? laugh.gif

Not anything new, but I like that they revisit oldschool principles of the genre.

I posted this elsewhere: I think it's a very solid demo, Night Time Women being my favorite track (where you can definitely here a bit of Los Natas influence). But to break out internationally, LN are going to need a vocalist on most of the songs. Instrumental rock/metal has to be a half-step more interesting than rock with vocals, like RotoR, Poseidotica or Mogwai. LN's arrangements are good, same with some of the riffs, but it needs something else to put it over the top.

That said, Soundproof Demo is like the Caņonero and the new Asteroid lps -- nothing groundbreaking, but they keep popping up in the rotation and sounding pretty good.

thank you; they're def. decent on the ears...and you're bang on re: the need for a vocalist.

Rather than start a new thread, here's Caņonero, a Chilean group on the same wavelength as their Polish brethren. http://www.myspace.com/canhonero.rock

The thing with "stoner" rock is that even when it is derivative, it at worst still sounds like 70s rock. But when the limpwristed pretty music or the shouty metalcore goes wrong, it is horribly, horribly bad.

So true-my Mom's (adorable/naive/honest) question/comment when she heard me playing the queens in 1999 was "Did Black Sabbath and Deep Purple form a band?"

That Chilean band ain't bad-I dig their cannon logo too.

I sure hope you said "yeah, mom. They did," and whipped this out and turned Disturbing the Priest to 11.
